Writer’s Block

Wow, since I signed on to do Post a Day in January, this is really the first day I’ve had true writer’s block. I’ve been paging through current events, photos, old e-mails, draft postings, and I really couldn’t put a coherent thought together about any of it if my life depended on it.

I have tons of stuff circling around in my mind, but none of it will make it out in the form of prose.

Stay tuned for tomorrow night. Hopefully I’ll get back on track.

  1. I’m not sure why, but there is something very reassuring about seeing a writer with writer’s block. I guess it’s just that all’s well in the universe, as it continues to roll along as it always has.

The postaday thing is very conducive to writer’s block because of the pressure. You did absolutely the right thing. Here’s a link to Carter Library about excerpts from a talk by E.L. Doctorow. He’s great and several of the things he says are very liberating.
