Tonight I’m taking a break from my normal sarcastic ways and giving thanks that I’ve been spared the misfortunes that have plagued much of the Midwest this spring. I do enjoy poking fun at Missouri, but there is nothing funny about what happened Sunday in Joplin, a town right across the Eastern Kansas border. Take a look at a few of the pictures. 116 dead. Utter devastation. Violent tornadoes also struck in Reading, Kansas, and in North Minneapolis, which is just a 20 minute drive from where I live.
Because they do it best, the American Red Cross is leading relief efforts. If you are able, kick a few dollars their direction.
