I’m about to embark on a six-hour drive to Omaha with four kids. Justin and Alex just got into a fight over the proper way to close a closet door. Before that David and Cameron were engaged in a heated debate over whether or not Cameron is a racist. And now Alex is pouting because I yelled at him for jumping on the bed after I told him three times to stop. It’s going to be a long day. David’s upset that we’re not bringing the dog. Justin is trying to find a particular stuffed animal, but won’t actually take part in the search. David has appointed himself gatekeeper over which movies make the final cut into the portable DVD case, and Alex is crying because he’s not allowing him to include Mickey Mouse’s Once Upon a Christmas.
It’s going to be a long day.
